Direct Savings, have proven this month that no job is too big.
Our expert installers have recently completed this mammoth job, a close to 700m2 flat roof in Kent.
We were asked by Aran Energy ltd to survey an ageing roof on a block of flats in the Kent town of Gravesend. Our initial survey of the roof revealed that it was failing in many areas. A long term, cost effective solution was required. Direct savings managed to secure funding for most of the tenants through the government backed ECO scheme - with an empty unit being funded by the local council.
With most of the units occupied, it was important that we get the job completed in a short time, to a high standard, with minimum disruption.
With the total size of the roof being 680 meters squared, this was a mammoth task, but not too big for Direct Savings.
Installation.
To maximise the benefits to the customers living in the top floor flats, our surveyors determined the best solution would be to mechanically fix 120mm PIR Kingspan insulation, before lap fixing the stunning lead grey SikaPlan D-15 Roofpro - supplied by Steve @ Roof innovations, thanks Steve - with other roofing suppliers taken weeks from order to site delivery at the moment, we are really lucky to have Steve on board!
We then secured the perimeter of the building using SikaPkan metals, produced by G.L Profiles. And we didn’t forget the finishing touches - fresh white PVC fascia.
Shout out to Simon @kingscal roofing - with thanks to him the team was able to complete this formidable task in just 7 days - from scaffold up to scaffold down! Now that is impressive - similar jobs have been known to take up to 3 weeks to complete.
